The differences are not as big as it may seem. Democracy of the Civic Cup series is based precisely on the availability of technology and even on the possibility of its operation on public roads. So even the “combat” car does not change its name, because the name “Civic” comes from the English “civil”. Having passed through the hands of masters from Honda Motorsport Europe and the Russian team Honda Racing Art, the car did not turn into an insanely expensive “testosterone monster”.
For example, the engine has not undergone any interventions at all – its capabilities are enough. The two-liter 16-valve engine with i-VTEC variable valve timing system develops 200 liters. with. at 7,500 rpm, and a peak torque of 198 Nm falls at 6,500 rpm. Typically Honda’s motor, full life living at high speeds. The range of changes is limited to an oil pan with a bilge system, stiffer engine mounts and a Green Air Filter reduced air resistance filter.

Of course, the racing Civic Type-R is equipped with a set of safety features regulated by the International Automobile Federation (FIA). It includes the OMP welded roll cage, the Koenig racing seat homologated by the FIA, the six-point harness, the Momo sports steering wheel, and a safe fuel tank and fire extinguisher.
Dynamic machine data is not a secret. To “hundreds” Type-R accelerates in 6.6 seconds, and the “maximum speed” is 250 km / h. This was even enough to set new national speed records, which was done by the Honda Racing Art team on September 5 last year.
